About the Role
The primary purpose of the Design Director- Programs is to lead, direct and coordinate the design programs with Project Initiators and Design Development Partners to deliver the Long-Term Capital and Operational Plan of Sydney Water.
The Design Director- Programs provides leadership for the development of forward programs, resource planning, development of business cases, reporting of progress and performance of Design Development Partners to enable timely delivery of design programs, within budgets meeting customer expectations.
This role works in partnership with Design Directors to manage the Design Partners in delivering fit for purpose outcomes for defined needs for Sydney Water and its customers.

To be considered for this role you will need the skills and experience:
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent that is recognised under the Washington Accord
- Registration with Engineers Australia as Chartered Professional Engineering or equivalent is desirable
- Valid driver’s licence (Class C)
- Experience in Business Case Writing is desirable
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in project management of multi-disciplinary engineering designs
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in managing muti-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated experience in planning and/or managing the delivery of infrastructure projects across a range of asset classes and products
- Demonstrated skills in the management and understanding of contractual, legal, commercial and legislative requirements
- Demonstrable negotiation skills in timely delivery of projects
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in the facilitation of meetings and workshops to ensure effective outcomes
