System & Asset Lead – Water Treatment

About the role

Reporting to the Water Systems Performance Manager, the System and Asset Lead - Water Treatment will ensure the service and asset value chain is aligned, and its components fit for purpose across the Water Treatment portfolio, so that current and future infrastructure delivers on regulatory requirements, customer and strategic outcomes, balancing performance, risk and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify asset class issues, and trends and gaps across water systems, providing insights and implementing action plans to mitigate risks.
  • Manage dynamic system performance (product, service, asset), applying Performance, Cost, Risk approach, making decisions about trade-offs that are material to performance when required.
  • Develop and implement product portfolio asset class artefacts that support system performance requirements and monitor their execution and effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively across Sydney Water to align internal stakeholders of work across systems and teams to manage risk and achieve Sydney Water’s objectives.
  • Lead a team of SMEs, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct internal Asset Management System audits from both an adequacy (ISO55001) and implementation perspective across water systems.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree plus an appropriate post-graduate qualification in engineering, science, business or a related discipline or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Asset Management (or related) experience in industrial sector organisations.
  • Water industry experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Demonstrated strong commercial understanding of quality/ cost/risk trade-offs with a lens on short-, medium- and long-term outcomes.
  • Team leadership experience and demonstration in forming and leading high performing teams in a positive and constructive environment.
  • Experience leading projects with complex requirements and considerations and ability to support and evaluate investment business cases.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills at all levels, with the ability to build relationships and influence change both internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify risks, issues and trends, and then implement action plans to manage them.
