An opportunity for a two year fixed term contract for Senior Development Consultant role exists in our Growth and Development team.

About the role

The role will play a key part in supporting the Governments current and longer term growth objectives.

You will work with the DPIE and Councils to respond to planning enquiries and to identify trends in urban growth to enable Sydney Water to develop asset and investment plans.

The role involves liaising with Councils and Government to investigate improvements within referral processes and also developing opportunities for data sharing and spatial representation of data.

You will gain hands on experience including providing support on projects related to development and land rezoning as well as learning how to use information systems such as e-Developer, Hydra and Mapinfo.

Key requirements:

  • Relevant Qualification: (urban planning, engineering) or experience of NSW Planning controls/water industry.
  • Understanding of the planning and servicing issues that affect Sydney Water.
  • Good written and oral communication skills including presentations
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to research, analyse and solve problems relating to urban growth
  • GIS/CAD skills 

Desirable:

  • Design skills
