About the Role

Sydney Water is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contract Support Officer to join our Customer Experience team. This role is integral to supporting our contract specialists in managing the delivery of works and services that directly impact our customers and uphold Sydney Water’s reputation.

You will be responsible for coordinating contractor activities across individual jobs and broader programs of work, ensuring compliance, quality, and efficiency in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess incoming job requests, generate work orders, allocate tasks to contractors, and monitor progress to completion.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, procurement policies, and internal procedures.
  • Review and process contract payment claims and invoices for internal approval.
  • Evaluate and manage cost adjustments and variation claims.
  • Conduct site inspections focusing on safety, environmental impact, community engagement, and quality assurance.
  • Prepare and manage contract documentation including correspondence, reports, and variations.
  • Verify service delivery and ensure accurate charges and payments.
  • Foster strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyse contract data to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing contractor-delivered works, particularly in civil maintenance or related services.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and interpretation.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with a strong customer focus.
  • Competence in presenting complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience with Ariba, Maximo, and Spatial Hub/GIS is desirable but not essential.
