An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Business Process Modeller to join the Strategy, Change and Performance team within Sydney Water!
The purpose of this role is to work with business subject matter experts, to capture and document business processes, using process notation standards, set by the Process Architecture Practice Manager, and adhering to an Architecture Led Change and Continuous Improvement approach to process design. Using the sanctioned business process reference modelling tools, the Business Process Modeller will apply these standards to both capture of baseline (as is) processes and solution process design (future state) and align these with key metric process performance indicators. Modeller will apply the Sydney Water Standards and Methodology including decomposition levels to modelling outputs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide architecture led change, continuous improvement recommendations and guidance in the documentation of processes, capturing both the required inputs and outputs key to the process in scope
- Business process modelling and validation of existing models using BPMN v2.0 standards.
- Architecture led change and continuous improvement (ALCCI) framework analysis and development of solutions to improve on process performance and reduce wastes
- Creation of process documentation, and guidance in the development and storage of knowledge articles.
- Develop requirements, specifications, document to be (solution) processes facilitate testing, gaining user acceptance and oversee rollout of process changes and improvements.
- Capturing the key process performance metrics, data sources and reporting methods, used in the measuring of key process performance.
- Develop process modelling and levelled architecture to ensure correct process ownership, governance and performance responsibility.
- Ensure all processes are validated and accepted by the identified process owner, and that data sources have been identified and signed off by Six Sigma professionals, as a suitable measurement system.
- Assist with the creation, maintenance and optimisation of database structures and content.
- The Business Process Modeller will provide process documentation model reference to performance metrics to assist in the recommendation and prioritisation of changes and improvements.
Experience and Skills
- 5+ years’ experience as a process modelling professional.
- Experience with process design and improvement methodologies and reporting.
- Experience in BPMN process notation.
- Experience in business metric identification and validation
- Understanding of process levelling and architecture
- Collaborative and constructive with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in translating statistical observations in simple to understand recommendations and benefit descriptions.
- Creativity and a passion for discovering and adopting new ways of working
- A continuous thirst for learning new ways of doing things
- Knowledge of asset service management and maintenance activity planning.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma improvement methodologies.
