About the role 

The purpose of Business Process Lead role is to drive transformation, deliver process improvements, and support uplift of process maturity across Sydney Water using standardised and internationally recognised best practice approaches to process improvement. This role will deliver quantifiable process improvements, systems integration recommendations, value adding solutions, uplifts in process maturity and capability, and ensure seamless integration with third party processes. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with other integral projects and programs, which have dependencies or linkages. Accordingly, this role will act as a process leader to the business, challenging the status quo to ensure the achievement of significant business outcomes. The Business Process Lead will guide process transformation across Sydney Water for all relevant key processes (including achieving transformation through coaching of business members, providing delivery service support, supporting a discrete number of the most high impact continuous improvement initiatives within the supported business units. 

About you 

This role will suit a professional with significant experience in leading business process improvement in cross functional and transformational programs. The Business Process Lead should have managed priorities across a multitude of initiatives and scopes.

Lead/ Drive the project team to deliver significant process improvement benefits while maintaining a high performing project team that is aligned to Sydney Water’s signature behaviours and values. 

Managing complex and heavily interlocked initiatives across several functional areas of business. 

Participate in team development, planning and coordination activities to enable the team to work effectively together. 

Technical Skills: 

Lean & Six Sigma (Master Black Belt) understanding and proven success to ensure the measured improvement and benefit realisation is supported, in the delivery of all process improvements. 

End-to-end process design and alignment to identify and manage interdependencies.  

Accountable for all process designs and re-engineered processes for the process improvement projects and ensuring they are documented, meet minimum process maturity standards/ quality requirements, designed to best practice, and are approved by relevant stakeholders. 

 Experience in training, coaching and certifying trainees in Six Sigma methodologies (White, Yellow and Green Belt trainees) to proficiently support trainees through theory and practical project delivery of the certifications. 

Qualification and Experience: 

Essential: 

The ideal candidate should have Tertiary qualification in business, engineering or related field, or experience deemed equivalent 

10+ years’ experience in process improvement (lean, six sigma, TPM, TQM, TOC, Triz) or transformational projects 

Six Sigma Master Black Belt
