About the role
As a Senior SAP Basis Specialist, you will be involved in day-to-day implementation and secure operation of SAP technology and related solutions to ensure effective and efficient technology delivery, using service frameworks, architectures and solutions supporting the Digital Strategic Plan and Sydney Water customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
System Administration and Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems, including SAP Solution Manager, SAP Landscape Management (SAP LAMA), SAP Identity Management (SAP IDM), and SAP Enterprise Threat Detection (SAP ETD) and S/4HANA and SAP HANA.
Implement and maintain data and system security best practices.
Stay informed about security patches and updates.
Support regular security audits and address vulnerabilities.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ITIL).
Monitor the usage of licenses with SNOW Optimizer for SAP
Backup and Recovery:
Verify and maintain backup and recovery strategies for SAP databases and applications.
Test and validate backup procedures to ensure data integrity.
Change Management and Transport:
Coordinate system transports (changes) across different SAP environments (development, testing, production).
Ensure proper documentation and approval for transport requests.
Disaster Recovery Execution:
Maintain disaster recovery procedures for SAP systems.
Regularly test and validate the recovery process.
About you
Tertiary degree qualification in information technology, computer science or similar or equivalent industry experience.
SAP certification is highly regarded.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in delivery, implementation, and operation of SAP Technology.
Technical expertise in operating and maintaining SAP On-Prem and SAP Cloud technology.
Ability to problem solve difficult issues to arrive at a technical solution that meets the business needs.
Specialist knowledge and experience in core SAP On-Prem technologies
Experience working in a RedHat/ Windows environment with SAP HANA/Oracle databases.
General technical knowledge and experience in IT technologies like SAP BTP, SAC and Microsoft Azure.
Working knowledge of Foundation Technologies, Information and Assurance and Delivery Operations
