About the role
As a Senior Production Officer, you will contribute to the Hub’s leadership team. You will use your extensive knowledge, skills and experience to lead the operational team, coaching and supporting other Production Officers in the field. You will be the key contact in the engagement and coordination for major projects through the entire project lifecycle. You will transition to leading operational and maintenance activities at critical water treatment infrastructure.
- Lead the engagement and onsite coordination for major capital upgrade works, including the Prospect Pre-Treatment Plant, and potentially future major projects at other plants and facilities
- Operate and maintain the Prospect Pre-Treatment Plan after commissioning, in all conditions, including after hours standby, in alignment with Water Supply & Production and Sydney Water frameworks including Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, health and safety requirements, quality and information management protocols, incident response and business continuity frameworks
- Execute on-site process and asset checks using available systems, processes and procedures
- Take measurements from installed field instruments and execute lab testing, as required
- Perform diagnosis and resolution for more complex process and asset issues, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation issues within capability
- Perform maintenance tasks and initial breakdown response within capability and capacity
- Contribute to the prioritisation of maintenance and renewals
- Provide input to the Hub manager for succession planning and personal development opportunities, assist in development training for new Hub members.
Who are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate is someone who is currently a senior team member demonstrating the ability to provide guidance, leadership and support in an operational environment, you will demonstrate the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering / science, or mechanical / electrical / instrumentation trade qualifications or equivalent experience
- Certificate IV - Water Operations or equivalent experience desirable
- Experience working in a large scale plant operation
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a current or previous role, especially safety leadership and supporting and training team members.
- Computer skills particularly in SCADA systems, Microsoft Office application and ability to learn and use customised software packages
- Good people skills and experience in coordinating internal and external service providers to perform maintenance and project works, including complex isolations and plant cutovers
- Flexible, with ability to work standby roster as required
