This is a great opportunity for multiple Senior Environmental Scientists and Environmental Scientists to join the high-performing and collaborative Environment and Heritage Services team. You will be responsible for delivering environmental planning and management advice to support the needs of the business in regulation, advocacy, strategy, planning and delivery to improve business, customer and environmental outcomes. You will also be responsible for assessing environmental impacts and securing statutory approvals along the asset value chain.

Senior Environmental Scientists Roles:

About you

  • Approximately 7 years relevant industry experience, including the successful delivery of environmental impact assessments, environmental approvals and environmental planning outcomes for projects within NSW
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science / environmental management/ environmental planning (or other relevant discipline)
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and providing on-the-job training of less experienced environmental professionals
  • Technical competency and experience in delivering environmental assessment and related approvals, within risk, cost and business drivers
  • Applied knowledge of relevant NSW environmental legislation, policy and industry standards
  • Organisational skills and success in prioritising competing requirements and meeting program schedules in a high-volume work environment
  • Highly competent report writing skills needed for preparation of environmental assessment documentation
  • Proven ability to identify, develop and implement strategies for the management of environmental issues associated with the planning, delivery and/or operation of large infrastructure projects

Environmental Scientist Roles:

About you:

  • Approximately 3 years’ relevant industry experience, including preparation of environmental impact assessments and facilitation of environmental approvals for projects within NSW
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science / environmental management/ environmental planning (or other relevant discipline)
  • Applied knowledge of relevant NSW environmental legislation and current environmental issues
  • Highly competent report writing skills needed for preparation of environmental assessment documentation
  • Experience delivering environmental assessments and approvals considering risk, cost and performance drivers
  • Understanding and experience with major water utility or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and develop effective working relationships
  • Effective oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
