About the role

To support the development of forward thinking, multi-driver responsive, customer focussed, integrated urban water servicing and waterway management plans that define the actions required to deliver upon the outcomes set in product and service strategies.

Your role is to support and lead planning projects for the System and Asset Planning team whose responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning for a range of new and upgraded network assets such as water and wastewater mains, pumping stations and reservoirs;
  • Supporting key government requirements such as how best to secure the water supply in the Greater Sydney Water Strategy;
  • Working with internal and external stakeholder relationships to deliver fit for purpose planning solutions;
  • Ensuring that our corporate strategy is embedded in our Asset Management System and investment plans and asset renewals; and
  • Assessing the risk of asset failure across a large range of asset classes to identify our investment requirements.


About you

  • 1-3 years’ experience in planning studies and integrated water management;
  • A degree in engineering/science/planning or related discipline;
  • Experience in applying innovation and novel approaches;
  • The ability to engage with a range of stakeholders from field staff to senior management; and
  • Knowledge of integrated water cycle management outcomes
  • Support writing reports and business cases to justify investment.
