About the role

Customer-facing and solutions-oriented commercial role requiring an innovative and commercially aware individual. Support navigating the challenges of growth for the Western Sydney Development.

You will:

·       High degree of personal resilience and standards of professional integrity

·       Collaborate with major developer account managers and project managers to gather intelligence on developer and market needs and requirements

·       Develop and implement initiatives to identify developer and market needs and to inform market and product opportunities

·       Identify opportunities for new commercial models and service offerings for the development industry, conducting initial feasibility analysis to ensure the opportunity meets Sydney Water’s strategic, financial, risk and compliance requirements in order to distil opportunities that are worthy of further investigation and development

·       Manage the development of innovative solutions to meet market opportunities and the design of proof of concept plans and trials

·       Cooperate with the Commercial Frameworks team during the development, testing and implementation of the new commercial agreements, framework and/or offerings

·       Provide leadership, coaching support and capability development to the Developer Partnerships team and broader customer-facing teams in the preparation of commercial agreements, commercial engagement (negotiations and dealings) and resolving disputes for major developers

About you

An accomplished individual with the ability to communicate and influence key internal and external business stakeholders. You can negotiate solution based outcomes without compromising on compliance.

You have:

·       Extensive experience in commercial business management, engagement and negotiation and business governance frameworks

·       Understanding of the business, asset and financial processes and systems required to manage commercial business activities

·       Strong conceptual and analytical skills to interpret data and evaluate early-stage opportunities

·       Commercial acumen with well-developed ability to identify and originate ideas to pursue

·       Understanding of political, market, planning and commercial drivers for major projects, and the resulting risk-based considerations to effectively consider opportunities for partnership between Sydney Water and the major developer sector

·       Strength in problem analysis and decision making to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities and develop appropriate solutions

·       Understanding of competition, regulatory and financial considerations associated with a regulated service provider making commercial service offerings

·       Ability to build trust, strategically influence and communicate effectively

·       High degree of personal resilience and standards of professional integrity
