About the Role
Sydney Water is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as a Senior Commercial Manger – Program Delivery. This is a pivotal role responsible for identifying, shaping, and delivering high-value commercial opportunities that align with our strategic objectives and drive long-term value for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and shape new commercial opportunities and partnerships that align with Sydney Water’s strategic objectives and deliver maximum value.
- Lead and manage a portfolio of commercial projects, ensuring alignment with the Investment Decision Framework and driving strategic and commercial outcomes.
- Oversee financial modelling, partnership valuation, negotiation strategies, and delivery of complex commercial projects, including the commercialisation of new products.
- Provide leadership and guidance to commercial managers and leads, ensuring effective project execution and capability development across the team.
- Monitor global industry trends, technologies, and innovative business models to inform strategic planning and enhance commercial performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop frameworks and pipelines that support new business initiatives, investment decisions, and value-for-money outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of financial drivers in the utility sector and experience operating within a regulatory environment.
- Proven expertise in deal structuring, due diligence, negotiation strategy, financial modelling, and valuation of complex projects.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels including senior executives.
- Demonstrated success in leading high-value, complex programmes and translating strategic plans into tangible business outcomes.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, including preparing and interpreting complex financial models and driving continuous business improvement.
- Track record of success in commercial roles within large organisations, infrastructure advisory, investment banking, or corporate advisory environments. Tertiary qualification in quantity surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business and engineering
Essential Requirements:
- You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application to be considered for this role.

- Flexibility to travel across Sydney Water sites as required.
