We are seeking a highly skilled Workplace Relations Specialist to provide expert guidance and support in implementing our Workplace Relations roadmap, for a 12-month fixed term contract.
About the Role
As the Workplace Relations Specialist, you will provide specialist expertise in managing complex workplace relations matters and contribute to the implementation of Sydney Water's Workplace Relations roadmap. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with industrial legislation, mitigating risks, and driving efficiencies across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Investigations: Oversees and conducts thorough investigations into incidents, providing recommendations for resolution and preventative measures.
Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Interpret agreements and industrial legislation to ensure compliance and manage associated risks.
Policy and Procedure Improvement: Support the enhancement of workplace relations policies and procedures to streamline processes and drive organisational efficiencies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with unions and support case management of Fair Work Australia conciliations, disputes, and hearings.
Change Management: Provide expert advice on complex outsourcing, insourcing, and people change impacts, considering legal precedents, risks, and organisational readiness.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Qualifications and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Law, with at least 5 years of investigations experience in a blue-collar unionised workforce
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations, and risk management practices.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a strategic mindset.
Stakeholder Management: Experience in negotiating industrial relations matters and managing complex employee relations cases.
Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver results.
