About the Role
Sydney Water is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager, Supply Chain to lead its Supply Chain team and drive strategic improvements across demand planning, inventory management, warehousing and distribution functions.
As the Senior Manager, Supply Chain you will lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for driving operational outcomes across Sydney Water’s supply chain activities. This pivotal role ensures efficient delivery of supply chain services and supports our 24/7 operations and maintenance teams across our operational areas of Greater Sydney region.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to uphold service standards, while fostering innovation and leveraging market insights to improve supply chain resilience. With a strong focus on leadership and collaboration, this role plays a key part in modernising practices and enhancing the reputation of the function across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Supply Chain team to exceed operational, service levels, financial and regulatory objectives.
- Oversee demand planning, inventory management, logistics and warehousing functions across Sydney Water’s central warehouse and nine depots
- Collaborate with our 24/7 operations and maintenance teams to uphold agreed service levels.
- Remove barriers to innovation and take accountability for delivering successful outcomes.
- Drive supplier performance against guarantees, warranties and service-level agreements.
- Develop, implement and manage business plans and budgets for the Supply Chain function.
- Advocate a safety and quality-focused environment, implementing standards of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Define and refine short- to medium-term frameworks to deliver Sydney Water’s vision, corporate strategy and stakeholder needs.
About You
- Approximately 10–15 years’ experience in a multi-site, complex supply chain environment.
- Over 5 years’ experience in a senior supply chain or warehouse leadership role.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing supply chain strategy and providing senior-level advice.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, build and manage relationships, and consult with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a senior manager within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong capability in working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success in managing large teams and driving performance improvements.
