As the Technical Standards Lead this role will see you closely collaborate with internal stakeholders, local and state government agencies and the private sector to mitigate risk, gain efficiencies and ensure a high level of sustainable management into the future guidelines and standards need to be updated, redesigned or newly developed as part of an integrated water approach ensuring deployment of Stormwater assets in the Aerotropolis Precincts are undertaken to Sydney Water’s standards.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Analytical Skills Ability to conduct comprehensive gap analyses of engineering specifications and identify necessary updates and actions.
Communication and Collaboration Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate internal and external workshops, ensuring alignment among stakeholders, including engineering and operations teams.
Technical Expertise in WSUD In-depth knowledge of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles and experience in assessing stormwater aspects within development applications.
Training and Development Capabilities Proficiency in developing and refining checklists and creating effective training packages for designers and reviewers.
Project Management and Coordination Ability to coordinate stakeholder workshops and meetings, provide clear direction to consultants, and ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree in one of the following subject areas: Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Urban Planning or a related field.
- Experience with greenfield development industry and processes
- Recognised leader in technical stormwater planning and influencer of industry issues, integrated water management, urban waterway health or water sensitive city concepts with relevant research
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of strategies, plans, submissions and reports relevant to waterways management.
- Demonstrated organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities to meet tight deadlines.
