Sydney Water are hiring a Principal Treatment Process Advisor you will ensure the effectiveness and capability of treatment processes in mitigating water quality and supply risks, you will be pivotal in maintaining a safe and clean water supply for our customers.
Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment & Management: Lead the identification and assessment of water quality and supply risks from catchment to customer, ensuring the effective management of these risks. Provide expert advice on policy, product specifications, and critical water quality issues using a hazard analysis critical control point approach.
Process Enhancement: Identify needs for treatment process enhancements and communicate investment priorities to planning and delivery teams. Assess and communicate the impacts of changes in policy, guidelines, and regulations on treatment processes.
Performance Improvement: Develop strategies and plans to address systemic issues in water quality, treatment, and supply, incorporating both operational and capital responses. Offer technical input into water quality and treatment planning, design, and operations, and build capability within teams.
Stakeholder Management: Work with key stakeholders to provide strategic oversight and technical input into treatment process design and asset upgrades to enhance system resilience. Represent Sydney Water at industry bodies, promote Sydney Water’s achievements, and develop long-term industry relationships.
Reporting: Prepare strategic reports and briefings for senior management, the Executive, and the Board on risks, regulatory compliance, and emerging issues.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent experience.
- Expert knowledge of water treatment processes and process design.
- Advanced knowledge of Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and risk management
- Experience with regulators, change management, and technical mentoring.
- Demonstrated high-level problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, evaluate risks, and develop alternative solutions.
