Join the team at Sydney Water as an Energy Advisor! Based at our Potts Hill office, make a real difference to our environmental and business outcomes by driving energy efficiency programs, developing energy strategy and managing our energy supply contracts - changing the way we purchase power.
Your day-to-day:
Contract Support: Assist in monitoring Sydney Water's energy supply contracts to enhance financial outcomes and reduce risk.
Program Development: Support the analysis and development of energy efficiency, carbon net zero, demand management programs, and energy information systems.
Advisory Support: Conduct analysis and provide advice on energy management, including regulation and strategy, with guidance to improve business, customer, and environmental outcomes.
Compliance: Help manage quality, legislative requirements, and energy certifications, approvals, licenses, and permits with supervision.
Knowledge Building: Contribute to raising awareness and knowledge of energy management both internally and externally.
Stakeholder Relations: Support and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing routine matters and building networks.
About You:
- 3 years’ experience in the management of natural resources to inform service provision and infrastructure planning and delivery
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Natural Resource, Environmental Management, Energy Engineering, Resource Economics, Science or a related discipline
- Sound knowledge of, and experience with major water utility and functions of water / wastewater treatment and pumping (or similar operating context)
- Technical knowledge of, and experience in implementing, renewable energy generation technologies and energy conservation and greenhouse gas mitigation initiatives
