About the role

 The Digital Infrastructure Programs team at Sydney Water leads the design, security and operation

of all Digital Infrastructure platforms including digital assets in the data centres and across our sites.

The role of the Security Architect is to ensure Digital programs deliver secure solutions by providing

expert cyber security design services and technical consultancy. By leading security design

deliverables across Sydney Water’s Digital Programs, the Security Architect plays a key role in

strengthening the ongoing cyber security of Sydney Water’s digital systems, contributing to

Sydney Water continued cyber security maturity. 

Your role will involve:

Analyse new designs for compliance with the ASD Essential 8 framework ISO27001 standard for compliance.

Design and present new architectures for peer review, under the guidance of senior team members or the manager, to secure endorsement and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.

Analyse and proactively identify perceived cyber risk in coordination with the cyber risk team to lower inherent risk in the Digital network.

Provide input in the development of cyber security standards to drive acceptable design behaviour to align with Sydney Water’s policies and risk appetite.

Identify and propose technical product options which are aligned with Sydney Water’s strategy and business requirements.

Ensure timely delivery of cyber design artefacts to support digital programs.

Lead vendor engagements which require deep cyber technical knowledge to ensure the most appropriate technology is selected for Digital solutions.

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including project managers and enterprise architects and engineers to deliver new digital solutions and help maintain a robust cyber positioning aligned with Sydney Water’s strategy and policy.

About the candidate

Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Cyber Security or Industry certification such as CISSP, GIAC or SABSA.

Demonstrated experience in delivering cyber security architectures for large and complex organisations.

Comprehensive knowledge of market cyber products and solutions across firewalls, VPNs, Internet, zero trust, encryption, anti-virus, end point protection, SIEM, VAPT, DMZs, SASE, DoSP, CASB/DLP, Sandboxing, MFA, WAF, MDM, Cloud security and others. 

Strong knowledge and understanding of current corporate risk matrix methodologies, i.e. consequence & likelihood.

Strong knowledge and understanding of current NSW Data Classification guidelines and ACSC ASD Essential 8.

Working knowledge of critical infrastructure networks

Desired:

IEC62443 certification
