About the role

As the Senior Solutions Designer Developer, your role involves creating solution designs, reaching consensus, and developing technical solutions to automate business processes. This collaboration includes various stakeholders such as business units, projects/programs, digital team members, partners, and vendors when necessary.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop digital solutions (integrations/APIs/business process automations, cloud integration) on the TIBCO Container Platform. These solutions must adhere to data quality, availability, security, and service stability requirements while minimizing risks.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for overseeing, designing, and facilitating knowledge transfers to the operation support teams. This ensures that the solution receives adequate support and does not pose operational risks to Sydney Water businesses and their customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proficient in Tibco BW CE, Tibco Messaging (EMS and Kafka), Kubernetes, Azure integration, and cloud-native microservices architectures specific integration product (SOA Suite, API Management (AZURE / AXWAY), Cloud Integration, Management File Transfer, and Business Process Automation/Management).
  • As an integration specialist the role is dedicated to business-driven technology projects and programs/initiatives, both long and short duration, to design and develop integration solutions that meet Sydney Water's standards and adhere to time and budget constraints.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, collaborating with business and all Digital teams to ensure customer-focused delivery.
  • Capable of architecting solution designs (Solution Architecture) within Sydney Water's architectural principles, policies, and guidelines, ensuring security, reliability, and sustainability in collaboration with Integration Solution Lead and Integration Solution Architect(s).
  • Develop digital solutions/components in compliance with agreed solution designs.
  • Lead deployments of integration software to controlled test environments and assist change and release coordinators and operational support resources with implementation of software releases.
  • Oversee risks and issues impacting project KPIs, solution architecture, code quality, and delivery related to integration solutions, following risk and issues management processes.
  • Escalate concerns to the project manager, solution architect, and Integration Delivery Lead on a regular basis.
  • Create technology documentation according to Sydney Water's software development methodologies templates.
  • Modify technology documentation templates to include new technology and architectural changes in line with Sydney Water's defined templates.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps to guarantee that capabilities align with business requirements and propose new architectural and solution principles to support emerging technology trends and business demands.

About you

  • Tertiary degree qualification in information technology, computer science or similar or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum 10 years’ of demonstrated experience in enterprise and cloud application integration and API Management.
  • Minimum 7 years’ of demonstrated experience in Solution Design
  • Skilled in leveraging Tibco Container Edition, TIBCO Messaging, and API Management effectively.
  • Competent in handling Kubernetes, Rancher, and microservice architecture
  • Well-versed in Jenkins, code repositories like Bit Bucket, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK Stack)
  • Proficient in developing cloud native integration using platforms such as Azure, AWS API, etc.
  • Proficient in creating DevOps pipelines and related frameworks, as well as leading solution design discussions at various levels within an organization.

 Technical expertise in: 

  • Integration/BPM, Solution design, development and deployment
  • SOA Governance and API Management
  • Strong understanding and experience in
  • Architectural principles
  • cloud native integration and containerization
  • integration patterns and methodologies
  • software development, business process modelling and data mapping.
  • testing principals and strategies
  • Security using appropriate authentication, authorization, non-repudiation, and data encryption methods.
  • Competency with XML constructs and schemas, API protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST
  • Experience working with technology vendors (software and services) and associated contractors.
  • Experience in architecting solutions for complex integration and business processes.
  • Previous experience in coordinating and allocating tasks for others.
  • Experience working with large enterprise applications.
  • Experience implementing industry standard security policies, protocols, network, firewalls and certificate-based authentication.
  • Experience working with the ITIL framework.
