About the role:

Join our Engineering and Technical Support team as a Senior Reliability Engineer. Reporting directly to the Engineering Reliability Manager, this exciting role will help develop and drive complex production wide asset management improvement projects, and maintenance and renewals programs.

What you will be doing: 

  • Develop and maintain Reliability, Maintainability, Availability, Safety (RAM) dashboards utilising BI tools and descriptive statistics.
  • Develop and maintain RAM simulation models using core reliability engineering principles such as inferential statistics, stress-strength analysis, Weibull analysis, and predictive analytics.
  • Undertake quantitative risk analysis for various combinations of asset design configurations and lifecycle activities.
  • Experience in Network Reliability analysis and benchmarking in utility industry will be of added advantage.
  • Contribute to optimised spares management strategies and plans using availability and inventory modelling concepts.
  • Contribute to Asset maintenance and renewal scenario modelling to get an optimal balance of cost, risk and performance for the organisation.
  • Lead the LCC interface and provide technical input into asset management strategies and continuous improvement projects.
  • Seek Optimization of complex asset maintenance strategies and support their continuous improvement across Production.
  • Collaborate with Hub Maintenance Engineers to refine preventive maintenance strategies and improve asset data quality.
  • Ensure integrity and value in asset-related decisions, adhering to maintenance and renewal strategies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving for complex asset failures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  •  Provide insights into reliability and performance analysis for Production assets, developing strategies to reduce asset risks.


Your Experience and Qualifications:

In addition to a degree qualification in engineering (preferably mechanical, electrical or similar) you will also have experience in operations, maintenance/renewals or treatment/quality aspects of water systems.. Also you will have:

  • Extensive experience with Asset Analytics and systems modelling to support complex asset management decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in system engineering activities such as design optimisations, configuration management and/ or reliability testing.
  • Expertise in reliability-centered maintenance and risk-based maintenance strategies using tools like FMECA.
  • Vocational exposure with civil, mechanical or electrical assets in production environments.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring team members in asset management concepts.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in complex asset management, particularly in water/wastewater treatment or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience leading asset management improvement projects and working within budget and timeline constraints.
