About the Role:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will manage the delivery of projects and/or programs in the Operational Technology (OT) field. This includes key responsibilities for the following process areas:
Key Responsibilities:
- Business case writing and development: planning and costing the elements and resources required to deliver a defined program of works across multiple sites over a 5-year period.
- Stakeholder engagement / communication: Work with project stakeholders and to coordinate the outcomes of a project. Communicate the project status and keep stakeholders informed. Ensure the correct resources are planned and assigned to deliver the required outcomes.
- Leadership: Ensure project team members remain motivated, on task and effective. Make sure the project is heading in the right direction to achieve the business benefits.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify, capture and manage any risks / issues associated with delivering projects that you are managing.
- Vendor Management: communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build relationships to ensure that vendors meet delivery timeframes and standards. This role is accountable for contract management, performance monitoring, risk assessment, and strategic planning to ensure vendors meet business needs.
- Project planning: Plan out the required tasks that need to be completed done along a timeline.
- Risk assessment: Identify and manage any risks associated with completing the project.
- Budgeting: Formulate the project budget then report on how the project is tracking against its financial plan.
- Time management: Ensure the project is scheduled to an appropriate level. Manage and update the schedule as the project progresses.
- Change Control: Adjust and update the plan when circumstances change and ensure the project is using the correct approach.
- Reporting: Monitor progress and regularly report back to key stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: review and report on the project outcomes when completed and improve our processes to deliver more efficiently in the future.
- Positively encourage and coach staff with respect to their Safe and Well Together visible Leadership behaviours.
Required Experience & Skills:
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the execution of project management processes for projects specific to the Operational Technology field. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates who have:
- Good knowledge of SCADA / Electrical or general OT operational environments
- Good understanding on Operational requirements for delivery of Critical OT/ IT Infrastructure (eg ; Standards; Design, Construction, Commissioning & Handover)
- Cyber Security requirements for Critical OT
- Extensive vendor management experience
- Proven experience with managing multiple projects in a utility environment with lots of external dependencies and competing business priorities.
- Effective leadership, coordination, and team building skills.
- Effective negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing and successfully delivery of technology projects.
- Driven, self-starter who takes ownership, knows how to make things happen, and is not afraid to challenge where necessary.
- Knowledge and/or experience in different project delivery approaches, including waterfall, SAP Activate, Scrum & SaFE and Iterative/Incremental.
- Knowledge of current best practice in the delivery of OT solutions, project management methodologies and their application to OT projects.
- Baseline level security clearance will be required for the successful candidate
- A degree in technology, engineering or related discipline is desirable.
- A qualification in project management (PRINCE2 Certification / PMI Certification) is desirable.
