About the role:
Reporting to the Procurement Framework Enablement Lead, the Procurement Specialist will manage the day-to-day procurement practices which are aligned with the objectives set out in the Procurement Policy, enabled by robust and fit-for-purpose processes, technologies, and tools at Sydney Water. This role will identify standardization to achieve consistent quality outcomes at Sydney Water:
- Assist with the development, review, improvement and roll out of processes and procedures that deliver strong business results and meet Sydney Water future needs and requirements and in accordance with Procurement Policy and Framework.
- Champion creativity and promote a culture of continuous improvement that allows people to improve the way they work, leading to increased business performance, effectiveness, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in managing and implementing Procurement related Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives such as Modern Slavery, indigenous business participation plan, net zero etc.
- Assist in managing, leading and implementing Procurement continuous improvement initiatives, projects and implementations.
- Assist in managing and implementing robust governance and compliance review and process to ensure effective compliance to Procurement Policy and Framework.
- Developing a working model, processes, tools and templates that balance multiple complex issues requiring extensive stakeholder consultation, sensitivity and attention to detail.
About you:
This hybrid position will ideally suit an individual with a background in governance, continuous process improvement and project management as well as experiences working with multiple stakeholders supporting development of procurement framework processes.
- Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Information Technology, Supply Chain, Finance, Business) or relevant experiences.
- Project management and business process improvement qualifications or experiences.
- Knowledge of good procurement policies, processes, governance, tools.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP Procurement systems, including ARIBA.
- Knowledge and understanding of the utility sector financial and commercial drivers and knowledge of operating within a regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously without close supervision.
- Extensive experience in using Microsoft 365 applications, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams etc..
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changes in priorities, tasks and schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships at with internal and external stakeholders to roll out Procurement process improvement, governance, compliance and framework.
