Training & Development Specialist 

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Training & Development Specialist to join our People & Governance practice at Sydney Water.

As a Training & Development Specialist, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of Sydney Water’s customer and employee interactions by designing, delivering, and managing impactful training programs and quality assurance initiatives. 

About the role

  • You will deliver training programs and learning paths for staff across the Enterprise.
  • Undertake accurate learning needs analysis and assessment of capability requirements.
  • Partner with the relevant stakeholders and performance capability teams.
  • Interpret, communicate and action results of external benchmarking and bridge identified knowledge and skills gaps.
  • Lead and manage new employees during the new starter induction program.
  • Develop, maintain and drive engagement on a training plan and framework that spans a rolling 3 to 6 months.
  • Engage new employees and encourage completion of role critical training during their onboarding journey.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve training outcomes, stakeholder engagement, and participant satisfaction.
  • Assess Quality Assurance tools for business appropriateness and manage upgrades if required.

About You

We are looking for a proactive, solutions-driven professional with:

  • Certificate IV in Assessment and workplace training or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in training or coaching with proven experience achieving outcomes and business improvement.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, influencing, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills including an ability to engage with people at all levels in the organisation and with external service partners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience using Learning Management Systems
