What’s the role?
As part of Water Supply and Production business, the Operation Team Lead is the technical lead/specialist for operation of drinking water filtration plants .
The role provides leadership in ensuring the Water Filtration Plants are operated safely and efficiently, meeting strict quality and quantity product requirements and providing world class water services for our customers and community. You will also play a critical role in securing safe drinking water supply for the future by identifying reliability and water quality improvements and being a lead interface in the delivery of projects.
This role will see you manage product quality and efficiency outcomes for the Western Water Hub; North Richmond and Cascade Water Filtration Plants including:
- Maintaining process stability and availability to meet critical control points
- Responding to abnormal conditions
- Production efficiency improvements
- Lead the operation of plants in alignment with approved Production Plans including ensuring licence and regulatory compliance
- Contribute to management of Hub budgets and make decisions regarding prioritisation, risk mitigation, and risk acceptance
- Set, review priorities and approve the Hub operational calendar, including all planned work to be undertaken on the plants for the next month (including planned maintenance and minor works, Opex and Capex works)
- Closely monitor treatment performance outcomes to identify, prevent and/or manage adverse trends and exceptions likely to impact on Sydney water's reputation.
Who are we looking for?
- Degree qualified in Engineering or Science, or equivalent experience and preferably 5-10 years’ experience in Water Operations or Water Quality
- Understanding of treatment/ operational processes, asset management and control systems
- People management skills and leadership in a team environment
- Demonstrated capability and commitment to improvement of customer and safety culture and efficiency outcomes
- Skills in internal and external stakeholder & customer communication and stakeholder management skills in a team environment
- Knowledge of Product guidelines (drinking water)
- Experience with e.g. SCADA/IICATS systems, software analytics, Microsoft Office application and ability to use customised software packages
