You will be responsible for leading the identification and planning of frontend opportunities related to new commercial opportunities for Sydney Water. This role collaborates closely with developer-facing teams, analysing the needs of developers and the broader market, and developing innovative solution concepts.

- Understanding of political, market and commercial drivers for major projects, and the resulting opportunities for partnership between Sydney Water and the major developer sector.
- Understanding of competition and regulatory, financial considerations associated with a regulated service provider making commercial service offerings.
- Ability to build trust, strategically influence and communicate effectively in all forums and at all levels.
- Understanding of the business, asset and financial processes and systems required to manage commercial business activities.
- A good understanding of the water industry and some experience in recycled water and innovation
What you’ll be doing:
- Educating and influencing internal and external stakeholders while overcoming resistance to change and ensuring consistent and clear messaging to align all stakeholders with Sydney Water’s strategic goals.
- Balancing the needs of current versus future customers, and justifying investment for that future state for long-term growth and sustainability and ensuring both current and future customer needs are met.
- Develop and implement initiatives to identify developer and market needs, enhancing understanding of current opportunities.
- Engage with Account Managers and Project Managers to support the implementation of new and innovative solutions that advance Sydney Water’s strategic, financial, risk and compliance objectives.
