What will you be doing?
As a Production Officer you will be responsible for the best practice safe operation and maintenance of water treatment assets to meet Australian Drinking Water Guideline requirements, whilst meeting customer expectations and efficiency targets.
Reporting to the Water Hub Manager, you will make a real difference through providing essential drinking water services to the community. This position includes a diverse range of accountabilities including office and outdoor activities while working with a varied group of stakeholders. You will be in the Warragamba Water Hub, working out of Orchard Hills and Warragamba Water Filtration Plants.
You will:
- Operate and maintain the plants in all conditions, in alignment with Water Supply and Production and Sydney Water frameworks including health and safety requirements, quality and information management protocols, incident response and business continuity frameworks
- Undertake daily water quality testing and adjust process control parameters
- Contribute to the prioritisation of maintenance and renewals.
- Execute on-site process and asset checks using available systems, processes and procedures
- Manage onsite safety and works coordination through implementation of safety procedures including, Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag and Flow Isolation / Flow Management.
Who are we looking for?
- Trade qualifications (electrician / instrumentation specialist or mechanical) or qualifications in engineering / science or equivalent experience
- Current driver’s license and your own vehicle with flexibility to travel across various locations within your hub
- The ability to commit to working on a rotating roster, inclusive of day shifts, after hours standby and weekend roster
- Experience in production or manufacturing within Water / Wastewater industry is highly advantageous
- Computer skills, basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable learning customised software packages
