About the Team

Customer Products & Serves (CPS) focuses on project implementation and innovation to improve outcomes for customers along with finding a commercial return through products and services outside of the normal water, wastewater and stormwater areas.

CPS is part of Innovation and Customer Programs. I&CP is made up of four areas: Products and Services, Science Research & Innovation, Water Efficiency Programs and Pipeline Management.

This role will work on a broad range of projects, such as Energy Efficiency, Net Carbon Zero, Recycled Water, Interim Servicing Options or other commercial projects.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to deliver product development projects which contribute to the development, integration and commercialisation and new ways of working to meet our business and customer's needs.

You will manage projects that improve the capability and efficiency of Sydney Water. The projects will vary from business process improvement to rolling out renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help manage the design and implementation of new product and service projects and initiatives across the project lifecycle, including the scoping of requirements, development of business cases, management of process mapping and redesign, documentation of outcomes and management of multiple stakeholders.
  • Project Manage and deliver complex projects from initiation to post commissioning.
  • Manage project schedules, finances and resources and negotiate contracts with third parties.
  • Will initiate and manage tenders.
  • Work within Sydney Water’s operational teams to hand over new services and products.
  • Work with those operational teams to continue to improve those services and manage the client relationship.
  • Define and manage project governance framework and structure including lifecycle stage and decisions.
  • Prepare, facilitate, conduct program and project reviews (PIRs) when required to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Manage and maintain innovation and development frameworks across Sydney Water to support the innovation pipeline.
  • Sales and negotiating with customers to achieve targets.
  • Operate and maintain systems (Sydney Water & proprietary) to meet client needs.

About you

You ideally have an Engineering or Science qualification, experience in a sales environment, project management experience and a keen interest in the Water Industry.

  • Minimum degree qualification in Engineering or Science discipline. Additional relevant tertiary qualification highly desirable e.g. Project Management, Change Management.
  • 5+ years' experience in delivery and project management of small to medium projects.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and tools, ideally within a large organisation.
  • Sales experience highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence and work collaboratively with all levels of an organisation to achieve improved business outcomes.
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Able to work independently and with a high level of autonomy.
  • Results driven and solution focused.
  • Driver's license.
