About the role

As a Senior Business Analyst working as part of the People Experience Program (our human capital management transformation) you will work with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, data and systems. The business capabilities in scope for this role will be payroll and benefits administration, rostering, time and attendance, and absence management.

This is a critical role that will define, manage and be a custodian of business requirements through the life of the program, and will support all downstream activities that enable successful delivery - process re-design, service design, implementation planning, change management, testing, and data migration.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Stakeholder management and communication: Identify stakeholders and develop and maintain collaborative working relations
  • Requirements analysis and lifecycle management: Ensure the PXP Program meets the needs of our business and is aligned to the overall Sydney Water strategy by:
  • leading the definition, elicitation, prioritisation and validation of requirements and design of business processes to meet the needs of the organisation
  • managing the development of detailed Business Requirements, Business Process Specifications and Non Functional Specifications that will drive the desired change
  • supporting testing, training and implementation activities to ensure the successful delivery of the overall business and technology solutions
  • supporting business case delivery and benefits realisation plan, specifically analysing the proposed solution’s ability to deliver the desired business outcome
  • Strategy analysis: Defines the future and transition states needed to address business needs:
  • lead the summarising and collating of the solution scope, implementation approach and dependencies at a level that ensures that stakeholders are well informed
  • lead the performance of a gap analysis between current and future state assessing options and provide recommendations on highest value approach

About you

  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant field or have significant experience in process analysis across a dynamic organisation
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) desirable
  • Certified in Agile Analysis (IIBA®-AAC) desirable
  • 7-10+ years Business Analysis experience
  • Business analysis techniques / deliverables within the Agile SCRUM framework (product backlog refinement and prioritisation, managing user stories, involvement in Scrum ceremonies)
  • Experience in Human Capital Management Best Practice including upstream and downstream related business processes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – ability to see the bigger picture / to understand context; and ability to facilitate / negotiate competing visions from stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills – Excellent writing skills, active listening, concise articulation and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Workshop facilitation skills – structured, responsive, and adaptive.
