About the role

Reporting to the Infrastructure Portfolio Governance Manager, the Infrastructure Portfolio Manager, Strategic Initiatives will lead and manage key Infrastructure Portfolio-Investment Management Office (IP-IMO) strategic initiatives and help plan, design, implement and monitor change and business improvement projects to support the delivery of a $1.5b p.a. infrastructure portfolio.

This is a broad, outward looking role and will require you to work closely with the IP-IMO team and across our extensive and varied group of stakeholders who interact, rely on, and collaborate with the IP-IMO.

This will be an opportunity to apply your excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to drive changes in the business to fix problems, remove bottlenecks and introduce new and more efficient ways of working. You will need to be flexible, open and proactive as well as resilient to maintain momentum and focus on these important initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a program of strategic initiatives, including change management and transformation projects, associated with the IP-IMO build/implementation, IPART regulatory submission and Asset Management Service Excellence Program.
  • Identify and assess business problem statements, build requirements and processes, enable resourcing, document management plans, work with cross-functional stakeholders (including leadership), identify dependencies, reduce risks, manage issues, and drive initiative progress on a weekly basis.
  • Supports the Infrastructure Portfolio by developing the right processes in the context of current business objectives and operating environment, to ensure successful portfolio management, business case development, program delivery, control, and performance – realising strategic SW business outcomes.

About you

  • Relevant degree qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g., Engineering, Business or Finance.
  • Strong experience in the development and management of similar infrastructure portfolios to evidence prudent investment decision making and realisation of benefits.
  • Demonstrated track record in change management, transformation, or strategic initiatives development and implementation.
  • Strong experience in business or portfolio analysis to identify trends and issues for remediation.
  • Strong experience in resolving issues in a complex business environment involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Asset Management processes and best practice.
