About the Role:
This role provides leadership, supervision, and support to the Accounts Payable and Procurement Services teams, ensuring all activities align with Sydney Water’s policies and procedures. The position is responsible for overseeing team performance and managing Accounts Payable Officers and Procurement Services Officers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and control the accurate and timely processing and payment of accounts payable for Sydney Water, ensuring records management meets risk, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee the processing, monitoring, and management of procurement services administration, including supplier onboarding, Source to Contract (S2C), and Requisition to Pay (R2P) processes.
- Supervise the effective and efficient handling of escalated enquiries, ensuring adherence to team Service Level Agreements.
- Resolve invoice match exceptions by collaborating with the business and Procurement to identify root causes of recurring issues and trends, reporting these to leadership, and driving improvement initiatives.
- Manage issues of stop supply with vendors, ensuring satisfactory and timely resolution.
- Manage end-to-end P-card administration.
- Ensure adherence to compliance controls related to Fraud and Corruption.
- Lead initiatives to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of Accounts Payable and Procurement Services.
- Liaise with the Business Connect Accounting team to ensure accurate recording and monitoring of expenses.
Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of Accounts Payable experience, with at least 3 years in a team leader/manager role overseeing accounts payable operations in a large organisation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end processes, including Pcard and Accounts Payable aspects.
- 5+ years of experience in the Procurement R2P process, with proven expertise in purchasing requisition/purchase order processing and maintenance, ensuring accuracy.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements in Accounts Payable and Purchasing, achieving measurable results.
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- High level experience and proficiency in ERP systems SAP and ARIBA and management systems such as MAXIMO and Concur.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective process improvement capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
