About the role

The purpose of the position is to deliver marketing campaigns and public relations programs that effectively articulate Sydney Waters customer messaging to educate, engage and change behaviours to improve customer value and brand enhancement.

As a Senior Marking Advisor, you will take a lead role in continuing to shape and coordinate marketing campaigns relating to key Sydney Water programs such as water conservation, Sydney Water’s growth in Western Sydney, Recycled Water, Drinking Water, Wastewater, water literacy, B2B services, Customer Assistance Programs and overarching brand campaigns as required.

You will be responsible for ensuring our creative direction aligns with our strategy, research and the broader Communications plan, and will work closely with our Customer Insights and Data Analytics teams to ensure the latest insights, attitudes and results are being monitored and utilised across the campaign and shared with key stakeholders.


In this role you will also:

  • Partner with the Customer and Strategic Insights team to establish success metrics and insights to shape strategies and track effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Prepare and maintain plans for campaign activities ensuring the alignment with Sydney Water’s brand and corporate strategy.
  • Drive awareness of key initiatives to improve community awareness of key educational objectives
  •  Develop and deliver marketing communication material for use across digital and social media channels, ATL channels, direct customer communications channels
  • Work with the Brand and Design team and Digital and Multimedia team in the production of marketing collateral and digital content to support marketing campaigns., as well as understanding customer sentiment and the measure of the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with our Social and Digital Advisor on Digital Campaigns that Promote Sydney Water’s corporate vision


About you

It is important as a Senior Marking Advisor to have a strong understanding of digital and emerging communications. A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in marketing or related discipline is preferred along with tertiary qualifications in marketing or other related disciplines. It is also important that you can demonstrate:

  • Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills – develops rapport and credibility with business and agency partners
  • A hunger for data to influence your strategies, with experience of using data to influence past campaigns under your care.
  • A strong team player with proven ability to collaborate with others to achieve goals.
  • Good knowledge of marketing tech development and digital marketing campaigns preferred
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including strong corporate and policy communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with proven planning, influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills.
