About the role
Key to this role will be an ability to:
- Design, Develop and deliver the Business readiness and change approach and supporting plans that will minimise performance impacts, and drive adoption and change sustainability.
- Lead and mentor a team of change managers, communication experts and learning and development specialists.
- Forge strong working partnerships with and influence Sponsors, Key Stakeholders, the program leadership team, project and change professionals and those directly impacted by change across the enterprise.
- Design and deliver a business readiness and change experience that delivers practical outcomes, revolutionises our operations and delivers sustainable change.
This role plays a vital part in landing fit for purpose change management strategies and managing change execution to drive business preparedness and adoption and mitigating resistance.
This role will bring innovation and dynamism, enhancing employee experience by leading people-centric interventions. Accountabilities and Responsibilities include, and not limited to:
- Ensure alignment and consistency with Sydney Water's Change Management framework, creating successful change management support, and readiness for business adoption.
- Detailed research, discovery, and analysis – Change complexity, Stakeholder Assessments, Change Readiness, Impact Analysis, Business Readiness, employee adoption, and proficiency, aligned with project objectives.
- Design, development and implementation of change management strategies, plans, and interventions (Engagement, Management, Communication, Training, Transition, Handover, Adoption etc.) across various initiatives, that are aligned with project objectives and expedite business readiness, employee adoption, and proficiency.
- Timely identification and mitigation of potential risks, issues, obstacles and change resistance.
- Establishing and leveraging agreed metrics to gauge the efficacy of the change management initiatives, ensuring adoption and benefits realisation.
- Change resource planning and management.
- Leading and directing Change Specialists/Analysts and working in collaboration to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Influencing business leaders and managers to effectively guide their teams through transitions.
- Status reporting (including, program, practice enterprise wide SVoC impact reporting)
- Active engagement and collaboration with the Sydney Water Change & Business Improvement practices.
The ideal candidate will:
Be a highly experienced Senior Change professional, with 7+ years of dedicated change management delivery expertise on large scale, complex transformation programs. The ideal candidate holds a qualification in Change Management or a Business-related discipline.
Essential technical skills include:
- Recent, practical hands on knowledge and experience with various change methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Technical experience in change impact discovery and analysis work.
- A solid understanding of how to help people go through change and the change process.
- Strategic and tactical change and business readiness experience.
- Experience with large scale, complex and multi-phased enterprise wide transitional, developmental, and transformational change.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively address complex issues.
- Proficiency to interact with stakeholders at various levels.
- Excellent Project Management Skills - Managing multiple projects, stakeholders, priorities, timeframes, dependencies, risks, issues, and resources (people, budgets, tools)
The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following strong personal attributes:
- Agile and flexible – being able to pivot quickly to respond to obstacles that may hinder progress toward completion of agreed goals and objectives.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
- Above average communication (listening, verbal and written), presentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver change related change leadership coaching and training.
- Strategic thinking and leadership.
- Ability to build strong working partnerships, by demonstrating integrity and through trust and respect for others.
