We are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Circular Economy to lead flagship circular economy projects from idea generation, through technical and commercial feasibility, industry partnering and business case approval for hand over to our project delivery teams.

What your day-to-day will look like: 

Dynamic Team: Lead and contribute within a dynamic team responsible for designing Sydney Water’s newest and most transformative services, across circular economy and integrated water cycle management. 

Project Leadership: Lead and manage multiple projects focused on bringing Sydney Water’s circular economy blueprint to life, across the themes of resource efficiency and recovery, waste reduction, carbon abatement, industrial ecology and sustainable product life cycles. 

Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine circular economy strategies and ensure alignment with organizational goals. 

Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies, to drive project success and foster strong relationships. 

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges and ensure project continuity. 

Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular updates to senior management on project status, milestones, and outcomes. 

Innovation and Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to the circular economy and work across the organisation to test and deploy innovative on.


Essential Criteria: 

  • Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Science, Infrastructure Investment, Construction Management, Engineering, Environment, Commerce) or experience deemed equivalent 
  • Program and Project Management qualifications or experience 
  • 10+ years’ work experience in program management and/or delivery of multiple large investment programs 
  • Experience in development and delivery of infrastructure projects 
  • Experience in business case development and external government investment assurance processes
