About the role
Production Officers located at the North Head Wastewater Treatment Plant are responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment and resource recovery assets to meet our legislative and product requirements, as well as customer, safety, and efficiency targets. A major project has commenced to upgrade the biosolids processing facilities at North Head. This will be an exciting opportunity for learning and development as you will be working with a highly experienced team.
The role is mainly for daywork operations Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm. For every nine days worked Production Officers are then eligible for one rostered day off. The role requires work on standby on a roster basis. There is a 26-hour standby allowance for any weeks worked on Standby (plus any overtime worked). There are opportunities for overtime on weekdays (3:30 – 7 pm) and on weekends.
About you
- Previous experience working in a collaborative and fast paced environment.
- Good people skills and keen to learn and grow your career in a supportive team culture.
- A ‘hands-on’ approach to problem solving and troubleshooting;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exposure to safety, environment, and quality management systems;
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to production and maintenance timelines;
- A commitment to continuous improvement, learning and living a positive team culture.
- Experience interfacing with multiple work groups on large projects is highly desirable
- Background in water, wastewater and/or resource recovery is highly desirable
- Willingness to work Standby on a roster basis and on shift for 3 – 12 month durations
- Engineering, Science or Trade qualification, or equivalent experience in a utilities or production environment is highly desirable.
