About the Laboratory Operation Support

In this role you will operate and maintain Sydney Water’s World Class Laboratories and associated buildings in all conditions to meet product requirements in addition to customer, safety and efficiency outcomes. Support the Laboratory Services Operations team to deliver the customer engagement portfolio, and assist with delivering the warehousing, fleet and facilities maintenance portfolios for the business

In accordance with procedures and under supervision you will perform the following activities:

  • Contribute to a high-performance culture. Always demonstrate SW values and behaviours and participate in a constructive and supporting working environment
  • Identify, manage and discuss safety hazards with on-site contractors
  • Lead the onsite safety discussion with contractors and either complete the Permit to Work certificates (for Laboratory Services Contractors), or the Authority to Enter Certificates (for the Regional Delivery Consortia contractors)
  • Ensure the safety of their own workplace and work activities, participation in health and safety training and activities, managing and reporting all identified hazards
  • Demonstrate positive safety behaviours to achieve zero harm
  • Demonstrate safety leadership and empower team to identify and rectify hazards
  • Complete all mandatory training, participate in incident scenarios as required
  • Contribute to incident investigations and implement lessons learnt
  • Support the Operations Manager in delivering any safety initiatives that will achieve zero harm

About you

  • It is preferred you have at least a certificate III in business / administration
  • A valid Driver’s license
  • At least 2-3 years working experience in a similar environment
  • Customer Service and/or administration
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication, active listening, and providing clear and concise information to the business
  • Problem-solving: Identifying and resolving customer issues efficiently and effectively
  • Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive customer relationships
  • Technical Skills: Utilising technology such as SAP, ARIBA, Beakon, CAMMS, Outlook, MS Office products (Outlook, Teams, other),
