Property Optimisation Manager

The purpose of this position to lead program, process and system development for the Property Optimisation, Divestment, Development and Leasing streams within the Property Portfolio Development team to deliver the maximum return to Sydney Water.

This role is pivotal in conducting technical analysis and providing expert advice while supervising a multi-skilled project team throughout the entire project lifecycle.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage ongoing and consultative assessments of the property portfolio to identify surplus properties, providing recommendations for rationalisation and divestment.
  • Formulate strategic recommendations for property optimisation program opportunities with a long-term perspective
  • Develop and implement the annual property portfolio optimisation plan that aligns with Sydney Water’s commercial and reputational interests.
  • Establish and implement a strategic framework and processes for the Property Optimisation Program that facilitates early stakeholder consultation, ensure budgets adherence and maintain adequate controls throughout the budget lifecycle.

 About you:

  • Relevant degree qualification (e.g., Property, Business) or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Significant experience in strategic portfolio management, property optimisation and/or property management with previous experience as a supervisor or manager.
  • Experience working with Local Councils, NSW planning authorities and approval/planning gateways
  • Experience in Project Managing all aspects of Property Disposal Transaction activities desirable, including land rezoning proposals, subdividing, community and stakeholder consultation.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in identifying and managing avoidable property risks including reputational risk triggers, resolves issues; monitor and reports progress.
