About the role
The purpose of the position is to successfully manage the delivery of predominantly medium to high risk/complexity projects to plan, within the Regional Annual Integrated Works Program. The Program includes capital works, maintenance and facilities management services, tactical renewal and minor works projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the delivery of projects from initiation through to close out and handover to operations in accordance with New Engineering Contract 4 (NEC4) processes and within the Sydney Water Program Delivery, project delivery framework.
- Mentor Project Managers by providing support and leadership to enable the effective delivery of projects from project initiation through to hand over and close out.
- Ensure Project Plans include clear targets, objectives, Key Performance Indicators, scope of work and deliverables which reflect the collaborative relationship between Sydney Water and the Regional Delivery Consortium.
- Prepare Business Cases for medium to high risk/ complexity projects to meet client expectations, including options identification, analysis and recommendation.
- Ensure project risks are effectively identified, mitigated and managed, including the proactive management of the Early Warning process, receiving notification from the RDC or issuing notification as the situation requires, to effectively manage any matters that could impact the delivery of the project with reference to scope, schedule and budget.
About you
- Minimum 10 – 15 years industry delivery experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant or related field, or experience deemed equivalent.
- Proven project management experience, delivering large and multi-faceted projects, is essential.
- Experience delivering water and wastewater projects, preferably with Sydney Water, consultants and/or contractors, preferable but not essential.
- Proven leadership/ senior management experience.
- Demonstrable ability to thrive and influence in a highly collaborative environment is essential.
- Design and construction project delivery experience within the infrastructure/utilities sectors.
