Sydney Water is seeking a trusted, collaborative HR Shared Services Advisor to empower people leaders across the organisation and shape a cohesive, value-driven employee experience. Serving as the primary point of contact for leaders via the Leader Hub shared service, this role provides timely guidance, practical coaching, and seamless access to HR resources, tools, and frameworks.

About the Role

As a HR Shared Services Advisor, you’ll support leaders in managing queries across the employee lifecycle, advising on everything from recruitment, remuneration to workforce data and policies. You’ll deliver high-quality frontline guidance, diagnose issues, and enable leaders to navigate sensitive situations with confidence. This role partners closely with Centres of Excellence and P&C Specialists to ensure consistent, enterprise-wide HR support and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as central advisor for people leaders, delivering expert HR support in line with agreed SLAs
  • Triaging and resolving queries via ServiceNow, maintaining accuracy and timeliness
  • Provide practical coaching to build leader capability and independence
  • Guide leaders through recruitment, remuneration, and benefits decisions with consistency and compliance
  • Maintain and enhance HR knowledge resources, process guides, and FAQs
  • Collaborate across P&C and business units for integrated, high-impact solutions
  • Capture leader feedback and drive process/policy improvements across the P&C landscape

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Degree in business administration, behavioural science, or Human Resources (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years’ HR partnering or advisory experience, supporting people leaders
  • Practical knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and HR systems (e.g., HRIS, ServiceNow or Dayforce)
  • Excellent time management and analytical skills, with experience meeting SLAs and KPIs
  • Commitment to building trust, delivering empathetic support, and enabling confident decision-making
  • Experience in HR shared service operations (Desired)
