Role Overview:
- Exciting opportunity to work collaboratively and independently within Records Management team
- EA Level 14 ($151,253.19 base salary plus superannuation)
- 38-hour work week
The Information Management Specialist – Records Management is part of the Information Management Centre (IMC) team and plays a critical role in enhancing Sydney Water’s information and records management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration & Development:
- Work with process owners to design and implement compliant information management practices.
- Create and maintain procedures, standards, and guidelines for effective records management.
- Assist in implement the 3-year records management plan and roadmap
Expert Advisory:
- Provide guidance on document and records management in alignment with the NSW State Records Act.
- Ensure practices are both efficient and legally compliant.
Compliance & Adoption:
- Drive and monitor adoption and compliance of records/document management practices.
- Support power users and process owners, escalate issues to managers, and review implementation strategies.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Support the rollout of initiatives that improve awareness and capability in recordkeeping and information sharing across teams.
Encourage and assist business units in adopting Sydney Water’s records systems and ensuring consistent usage.
Participate in annual reviews of records management activities (e.g. RMAT), helping to keep practices aligned with current business and regulatory needs.
Engage with key users and champions, providing guidance and support to foster positive change and innovation.
Contribute to the preparation of reports and advice on recordkeeping matters, including those required by legislation or internal stakeholders.
Build collaborative relationships with internal teams to offer practical recordkeeping advice and support.
What We’re Looking For:
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information Science, or Business (or equivalent experience). Or a minimum 5 years’ experience in information management roles within complex environments.
Proven success in implementing and supporting EDRMS, search technologies.
Strong capability in driving change and building momentum across large organisations.
Solid understanding of business analysis methodologies for designing information solutions.
In-depth knowledge of the NSW State Records Act, privacy legislation, GIPA, and other compliance frameworks.
Ability to navigate competing priorities, resolve conflicts, and deliver expert advice and project outcomes.
