As the Investment Prioritisation Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing the prioritization of our infrastructure investments between capital and operational expenditure pathways (TOTEX approach), annually and over a 5-year investment program. You will ensure that current and future infrastructure initiatives meet regulatory requirements, align with corporate strategy objectives, and effectively balance service performance, risk, and costs across all water-related products and asset classes.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Asset Decision-Making: Make informed decisions about assets to ensure that the Asset Operator meets service expectations, optimizing performance, risk, and cost.
  • Risk Assessment: Undertake risk assessment practices to manage investment responses that address forecast asset, system and service performance issues. Capture and disseminate lessons learned for future reviews, covering maintenance, renewals, upgrades, and new assets to meet growth and resilience requirements.
  • Critical Issue Identification: Proactively identify critical issues and develop solutions for balanced performance and risk management across the TOTEX program. Represent the organization at established program forums.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and identify opportunities to enhance data quality for renewals and other capital works candidates. Implement best practices and quality control procedures for prioritization techniques.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualification plus an appropriate post-graduate qualification in engineering, science, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 to 7 years of industry experience in a complex asset management-based organization and project environment. Proven ability to support multi-disciplinary integrated teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability in applying risk management for service performance, identifying financial and commercial risks and opportunities, practical financial analysis, and stakeholder management. Experience in developing related tools for decision-making.
