About the role

As the Manager, Employee Communications, you will help us bring our strategy to life, building on our reputation for world-class services, helping us to build a high-performance culture and secure our reputation as the employer of choice both now and well into the future.   

Direct reports include:

  • Senior Advisor Employee Communications x 2
  • Employee Communications Coordinator x 2
  • Additional project-based resources as required

Key accountabilities

  • Lead a team of communications specialists to identify opportunities to build a high performing, values-based culture that has the customer at the heart
  • Create and manage the delivery of strategic employee communications that contribute to the delivery of Sydney Water’s strategy.
  • Provide clear and engaging communications to support the business in the delivery of key strategic priorities.
  • Work with the business to co-create engagement strategies to attract high-performing, highly motivated people to join us in our vision to create a better life.

About you

Degree qualifications in communications, people and culture or a related field.

Experience & Skills

  • Outstanding people leadership and collaboration skills
  • Outstanding communication and engagement expertise to drive alignment and commitment to delivering on our vision
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience working as a senior communications professional in a major corporation, government department or agency environment
  • Proven experience in partnering with senior leadership to provide coaching and support in the delivery of effective employee communications
  • Ability to build constructive and effective relationships to develop a deep understanding of business needs and objectives to tie communications directly to desired business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability in designing and implementing proactive communication plans and issues-based programs 
  • Highly-developed written and verbal communication expertise including strong corporate policy positioning and delivery
