We are seeking a skilled Safety Advisor to support our commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
About the Role
As a Safety Advisor, you will provide expert guidance to ensure compliance with safety regulations and foster a strong safety culture. Reporting to Safety, Health & Wellbeing Business Partner, you will oversee risk mitigation, incident prevention, and continuous improvement of safety practices. You will coach and mentor staff and leaders to foster a positive safety culture
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership: Provide strategic guidance on safety policies, ensuring compliance with WHS regulations and best practices.
Governance and Compliance: Conduct audits, track corrective actions, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate safety risks across operations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance safety awareness and support our safety leadership programme.
Incident Investigation: Lead and participate in safety investigations, providing recommendations for improvement.
Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance safety performance and workplace wellbeing.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Safety Expertise: Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and safety systems.
Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strategic Acumen: Ability to align safety initiatives with business objectives.
Technical Qualifications: Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, with recognised lead auditor and safety investigation qualifications.
Industry Experience: Experience in utilities or construction is desirable, with a trade background being advantageous.
