Commercial Supply Manager

Optimize Commercial Contracts across the Sydney Water Network – this brand-new role will be integral to achieving value for money for our 5 million customers.

About the role:

This role focuses on optimizing water delivery costs, guiding contract and production managers, and driving commercial improvements. What you will be doing: 

  • Leadership - Lead and motivate a team of Water Analysts, Technology Integration leads and Contract Officers in balancing customer service, culture, and commercial goals.
  • Implement strategies, monitor performance, and improve processes.
  • Establish new ways of reporting cost of water across the business and identify way to optimise water costs, influence change.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities for better commercial outcomes.
  • Commercial Management - Explore new commercial opportunities and lead commercial projects for strategic outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement to create efficient and safe cross-business processes.
  • Oversee contract management for water agreements, negotiation and commercial analysis
  • Collaboration and integration - Working with external major partners and internal businesses to establish the cost of water model.
  • Develop budgets, manage financial performance across various businesses and implement strategic water supply outcomes.
  • Drive operational efficiency and improvement programs in partnership with internal and external stakeholder to ensure lowest cost to serve

Your Experience and Qualifications:

Apart from an interest in working in the water industry and providing great outcomes for our community of customers , you will have tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Commerce, Law or another related discipline. Also you will have:

·      Demonstrable track record of success in managing major commercial arrangements in an engineering or utilities environment (ideally water!)

·      Experience managing complex contractual agreements with a wide range of stakeholders

·      Advanced skills in presenting complex and varied data analysis

·      Ability to balance a range of complex customer needs with commercial and regulatory drivers

·      Highly developed communication, evaluation and problem-solving skills

·      Demonstrated program and project management experience inclusive of high value complex projects
