About the role

The Program Management Office Specialist will support a large-scale program within the Business Improvement portfolio. The Program Management Office Specialist will ensure the appropriate financial and project management frameworks are applied within the Program. The role will be responsible for the delivery of governance within the Program including reporting risks, issues, dependencies, financials (including benefits) and quality.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver PMO activities and deliverables within a large-scale Program on time and to a high quality, including risk, issue and dependency management, reporting, schedule maintenance and benefits realisation utilising the relevant Program tools such as Microsoft Project Online and SAP-EPPM.
  • Build constructive working relationships with the Program Director / Program Manager / Project Managers and key stakeholders to support successful delivery of the program.
  • Drive the implementation and embedding of PMO processes, methods and best practice into the Program; including participating in stage gate approvals and change/variation.
  • Identify and deliver actions to improve the quality of program delivery through monitoring and reporting activities and management information.
  • Ensure compliance with Project and Financial Management frameworks and timelines; using the required Program systems and tools (Microsoft Project Online, SAP-EPPM and Power BI).
  • Develop and maintain a suite of analytical/ reporting activities providing insight on Program / Project performance, including financial (cost and benefit) tracking

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management/Business Management or related discipline,
  • 5+ years’ experience running a PMO for a project or program.
  • Prior exposure and experience of 5+ years working on complex and / or business transformation delivery programs.
  • A relevant program management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI)
  • Experience in a position within a portfolio management office centre of excellence function.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups including Senior Executives
