About the role
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager you will perform routine and non-routine analyses of samples from a variety of environments, using a range of equipment in accordance with procedures to meet customer quality and time expectations and regulatory and operational requirements.
Daily duties include receiving and processing of samples, analysis of results, data entry, quality control, checks and calibrations, maintaining sterilization laboratory.
- Routine chemical or biological analysis of water and wastewater products in accordance with procedures
- Sample preparation, extraction, concentration and analysis of water and wastewater products in accordance with procedures
- Identify problems and undertake problem solving appropriate to level
- Check relevant data entry for accuracy, report unusual results and issues immediately to a Supervisor, Team Leader or Manager
- Ability and willingness to learn new tasks, methods, instruments and equipment, as appropriate
- Complete tasks on time, to expected quality and at the expected cost
- Work cooperatively with team members to ensure customer requirements are met and operations are efficient
- Utilise laboratory instruments and equipment include TOC, O&G, BOD and FIA
- Work safely, undertake risk assessments and report hazards and incidents
About you
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing specialist electronic instrumentation advice, technical services and instrumentation support.
- Demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of specialised water quality and environmental measurement instrumentation and ancillary reference equipment.
- Demonstrated experience to manage projects and complete work within the agreed timeframes, meeting all client requirements
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff
- Demonstrated experience in working to and complying with quality system requirements.
- Experience to liaise and coordinate effectively with senior staff
- Experience to write clear and concise reports.
- Available to work outside normal working hours as required (early start 6 am)
