About the Role

Join Sydney Water’s Smart Metering Team and play a key role in our mission to build thriving, liveable, and sustainable cities. As a Project Officer, you’ll support the delivery and management of innovative smart metering projects that help optimise asset lifecycles and contribute to sustainable outcomes.

You will be pivotal in facilitating the transition to smart metering technologies, ensuring the successful implementation of projects within time, cost, and quality parameters. Working closely with Project Managers, you'll also assist in refining processes and systems, maximising the value derived from smart meters, and integrating solutions with our existing SAP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to the smart metering team in the execution of projects and project management tasks.
  • Assist in the development of new processes and systems to enhance the utility of smart meters and the valuable data they generate.
  • Ensure seamless integration of smart metering processes into business-as-usual operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Offer versatile support to the smart metering team to help achieve broader strategic goals.

About You

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably within property, metering, or billing sectors).
  • Qualification: TAFE Diploma in Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IoT or smart metering technologies, solutions, and processes.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience in data management and analytics.
  • Project Management Knowledge: A solid understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, both face-to-face and virtually.
