Product Development Manager 

  • Assist with driving Business Development’s Pipeline of innovation, product and service opportunities that contribute to the achievement of the Group Business Plan and Sydney Water’s Strategy.
  • Develop innovation and development governance and frameworks to support the business development pipeline​.
  • Work with the Project and Program Managers to identify, evaluate and resolve aggregated portfolio level interdependencies, risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Parramatta location, close to public transport

About the role

This role will be responsible for the delivery of product development projects to deliver and to contribute to the development, integration and commercialisation and new ways of working to meet our business and customer's needs. Help develop innovation and development frameworks across Sydney Water to support the business development pipeline.

Your duties will involve:

  • Provide Portfolio Management Office reporting and insights
  • Development of governance, frameworks, tools and templates
  • Define and manage project scope, time, quality, cost, resourcing, procurement, change, stakeholders & comms, risks & issues and integration
  • In conjunction with the assigned Program Manager, define and implement effective change and communication strategies and plans. Ensure change activities are integrated with the project schedule.
  • Translate the intent of Sydney Water strategies and direction from corporate plans into business level objects for Innovation and Product Development
  • Manage the project to deliver the agreed objective within budget, on time and to the quality as delegated by the Program/ Project Board
  • Manage high level roadmap of critical path, milestones to enable effective stakeholder engagement and interdependency management
  • Track project progress and compile project status reports as required
  • Set and implement strategies to support delivery of change management with supporting communication initiatives

About you

Your prior experience should include:

  • Experience working in a PMO Portfolio Management Office
  • Minimum degree qualification in a Business or Professional discipline. Minimum 5-10 years commercial experience in a large organisation
  • Additional relevant tertiary qualification highly desirable e.g. Project management qualifications
  • PRINCE2 or PMBOK practitioner certification is required
  • Experience working in a PMO Portfolio Management Office
  • 5+ years' experience and knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Minimum 5 years' proven, successful leadership of large projects with a focus on teamwork, goals and priorities
  • Strong ability to identify and measure business performance improvement opportunities through robust and logical problem solving, strategic, analytical and financial evaluation skills.
