Sydney Water is seeking a dedicated Senior Energy Advisor to join our Energy and Recovery Resources team.
A permanent opportunity based out of Potts Hill, you will inform the Energy & Efficiency team in the management and operations of Sydney Water’s energy supply contracts to reduce customer bills and change the way we purchase energy. You will support the needs of the business to enable Sydney Water’s carbon net zero 2030 target through delivery of energy efficiency outcomes and contribution to future power purchase.
Your day-to-day:
Contract Management: Monitor and optimize Sydney Water's electricity and energy supply contracts to enhance financial outcomes and minimize risks.
Program Development: Analyse and contribute to the development and implementation of energy efficiency, demand management, and information systems.
Expert Advice: Provide expert analysis and advice on energy management, including regulatory compliance, strategy, and planning to improve business, customer, and environmental results.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and legislative requirements, including managing certifications, approvals, licenses, permits, auditing, and reporting.
Advisory Services: Apply established procedures and processes to offer energy management advice, set priorities, and manage workload effectively.
Stakeholder Relations: Foster strong stakeholder relationships, resolve complex issues, and represent Sydney Water at industry bodies while promoting our achievements.
Essential Requirements:
- 7 years’ experience in the management of natural resources to inform service provision and infrastructure planning and delivery
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Natural Resource, Environmental Management, Energy Engineering, Resource Economics, Science or a related discipline
- Sound knowledge of, and experience implementing resource management actions in the context of, principles, practices and functions of water / wastewater treatment and transport
- Technical knowledge of, and experience in implementing, renewable energy generation technologies and energy conservation and greenhouse gas mitigation initiatives
