An exciting opportunity to join our Systems Water Quality team in Water Supply & Production, working closely with teams across the organisation including the Customer Hub, Analytical Services, Civil Maintenance and Networks to provide safe drinking water to our 5 million customers

Responsibilities:

  • manage drinking water quality in Sydney Water’s distribution systems from the plants to the customer tap to ensure public health
  • manage the team to ensure timely and accurate response to all customer water quality complaints and enquiries 24/7
  • lead technical expertise and water quality analysis in the management of water quality performance to achieve customer, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements
  • ensure Australian Drinking Water Guidelines are met, in particular network operational aspects relating to water quality (reservoirs, automated dosing units, chlorine analysers and mixers)


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Science, or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 10 – 15 years’ experience in Water operations and Water quality
  • Experience in water quality management systems
  • Experience in customer complaint and enquiry response
  • Experience in after- hours & incident response
  • Demonstrated experience in communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience with SCADA/IICATS systems (or similar), software for analytics, Microsoft Office application and ability to use customised software packages
