About the role:

Sydney Water is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to support multiple initiatives in the planning, design, operation and renewal phases of the asset management lifecycle. This role will assist in implementing the Engineering Assurance Framework, product evaluation and technical support.

Working with a high performing team of senior engineers, you will be supporting the project delivery in Civil/Pipeline Engineering making a difference in the community. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across our organisation to create whole-of-business success.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the identification, creation and active management of technical specifications, standards and guidelines related to Civil engineering.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate technical management systems.
  • Support senior engineering staff to provide technical, SME and risk management advice for Civil and Pipeline engineering.
  • Undertake civil pipeline design as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to specialist input to the definition of information, insights, data, systems, models and tools required for engineering and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and information.
  • Represent Sydney Water in wider industry bodies
  • Promote the value of engineering within corporation and broader industry.

 

About you

You are highly proactive, collaborative and solutions focused professional driving innovative engineering disciplines for optimised system outcomes.

Skills & Qualification

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Civil and Pipeline design
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in civil, structural and hydraulic design of utility pipelines
  • Knowledge of design and construction practices associated with trenchless technologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication and technical report writing skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of Quality Assurance and Safety Management Systems
  • Exposure in working in a multi-disciplinary design team
  • Exposure to problem solving and continuous improvement processes is beneficial
